Features

This section will describe the various features available with the Control Pad. Think of this section of as a high-level overview of the product, where you can understand the “big picture” and consider some possibilities of using the Control Pad product with your Captivate products. The remaining sections of the Instruction Guide will give detailed instructions about configuring the Control Pad and editing each of these options.

Please note: each feature of the Control Pad is optional. The Control Pad is extremely flexible. For each of your projects, you can select which sections of the Control Pad web page you want to display. You can control which Control Pad buttons are displayed and in what order. Don’t want to use the Sidebar on your next project? No problem. Within each of the Control Pad panels, you can control the specific content displayed such as text, images, background colors, the documents you make available for attachments or the web sites you offer links for. In the Sidebar and Menu Panels, you can adjust the number of menu items, their order, the name for each menu item, and the specific slide they link to with your Captivate movies.

Not to confuse you, but some of our clients don’t actually use the Control Pad playbar buttons! Huh? These developers publish their Captivate movies with the standard Captivate SWF playbar because it is already well established in their company’s training environment. Instead, the developers find the other features of the Control Pad beneficial, including the Sidebar, Menu panel, Content panel, and the Attachments pop-up window.
